Net Generation and 'Google -ing' your name

Are you 22 years and below? If Yes, then you're one of the net generation. Cool.. eh! Ever wonder what would our lives be in the future, with all the incredible devices and cool gadgets bla.. bla.. and so on?

Considering that if you're one of the 'N-Geners', you're the kid that has been manipulating mouses since early age. Having access to email, IM, downloading musics and movies etc list goes on. I remembered when I was little, communication was not as simple as present day. I had to use fax machine to communicate with my dad who was overseas that time. Snail mail was just too slow to arrive and I was desperately trying to communicate with my dad :) Today communication is as easy as a simple click of a mouse.

We certainly know that Google is the biggest and well-known search engine. At the same time with the ever growing of social network such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, etc and also the continuous growth in personal blogs. We have been 'googling' from every single thing we could think of but why not try your name?

Do you ever thought of "Google -ing" your name on the website? It seems to me that 'gooling' people on the web to find further information has becoming a trend. I also realized that among the few TV series such as the Cashmere Mafia, NCIS, there seem to be 'googling' people on the web to find out who there are in detail.

While taking a class this semester, my Professor was talking about "Brand you". It's got to do with creating your on brand and distinguish yourself among others. He gave us an article which talks about 'googling' your name on the web. Below is a online ID calculator link that you can try assessing your current online identity stands.

From there, maybe you can strive to further establish an identity online. Who knows, your employer maybe 'googling' you as we speak :P

Go and give it a try! See what you get.... *Have fun* :P
