SKJ: Miri.. (musim 1)

----------------------------------------
Disclaimer: Boredom can be one very good source of creativity.. like this one..
----------------------------------------

Havin been engrossed to the recent forensics detective series, the CSI, i suddenly see everything happening around me as a crime scene..

Behold; SKJ: Miri (Siasatan Kawasan Jenayah), first season..

My first scene: My office..

My first find: A suspicious 'button'..

My first initial movement: Tagged it immediately as evidence..

My initial hypothesis: Someone must have lost a button, i presume a trousers button, which happened due to over eating..

Evidence: A potential murder weapon, or a victim's clue..

Anyways, all these are nonsense.. i did it cos i was really bored.. damn.. well at least this sums up my day..

Journey to the Land Beneath the Winds.. (Day 1)

----------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: Before you really go on, let me tell you that this is one hell of a long post, so proceed at your own risk.. haha..
----------------------------------------------

It was last two days since I came back from KK, not really to have a holiday but in fact to attend a meeting cum seminar organized by my company.

Our flight there I can say is farkin really early, 7:45 am, as the sun came up, we had our asses packed for airport as we need to check in an hour before the flight.

My ride: Hey, gone thru some local-comic-artiste pimpin’?
Anyways, the journey was not as intriguing as a discovery made by a colleague of mine on the plane..

Find of the day: What the heck.. two lost screws?

We hit the KK land exactly at 8:45 am, around 45 minutes of hellish ride on the ‘two-missing-screw’ plane and we went straight to our crib to drop off our weights.

After dropping stuffs off, we started our new quest; quest to search for the KK infamous yue wuat (fresh fish fillet) noodles. Moving around took us an hour before we really find our treasure.. and as the reward, a ‘golden’ bowl of yue wuat fish noodles (no joking, even the noodles are made of fish meat!)

Treasure of Yuan Li Coffee Shop: 1 hour of walking, 20 minutes of heaven..

Its not long after we finished our bowl of ‘heaven’, we found out that we are stuck in the shop as it was raining outside. No choice, we had to go back using a cab.

So we dropped off at Centre Point and shopped around there. Obviously, I was quite tight for the month so I had no choice but to do what all guys do when their wallets are dry: window shopping. As the ladies moved around grabbing what they can, me and several other guys (including my dad) just moved around with our hands kept in our pockets.

Hours after exploring the Centre Point, we decided to go back, to check in to the apartment and at the same time take the opportunity hitting the sack a while as the flight was too early for some. The view from out lot was pleasant and I managed to get several shots from the balcony without falling off.

Modern times: Structures behind the apartment.

Marina court: Forced to face the sea.

Nature’s beauty: Carved horizons.

Not long after checking in, as the youngest in the group, I decided to take a walk around the place, hopping into my short pants and equipped with my Sony DSC-M1. I moved around the area at first, the Api-Api Centre behind my apartments and managed to stop by this sport mart that Huat recommended to me.

+10, you mean there is more than 10% discount?

To my disappointment, I wasn’t really impressed by the deals they gave, well, at least to say deals not good enough for me to flash my Green Bills and my credit cards (ahem..), so I made a move back to Centre Point. Now I get to move around freely without any obstacles from my colleagues (and of course my old man) so I can get to see what I really want to see.

Then I moved on to KK Plaza, a few blocks away then to another sport shop near the Hyatt hotel. If not mistaken its Sports Centre, They have quite a deal there but again to my disappointment, there are no size for me (my feet is huge, 11 UK, sighs).

The Supremacy: King Rooney wears ‘em.

So I made a turnaround and headed to the open market where my team was. Apparently they are out from the rooms to search for lunch.

The swordfish: what is with the cocoon?

Tears of the sky: potential disaster?

Tree in the shop: Latest architecture marvel.

Coffee Culture: Starbucks + Coffee Bean?

Open air: Coconuts, coconuts and more coconuts.

Exhausted from all the walks, I made a break at the market with a coconut to quench my thirst; I joined back the rest for lunch. We wandered around and ended up at the shop next to the one that we had our breakfast. It was too late to have lunch then and too early to have dinner. The ‘Bak kut the’ stall is opening, preparing the ingredients, so we had a light snack in the wait for our main course.

The Seremban siew pow: All the way to Sabah?

Pau zhou poh (land lady): Stylishly on the phone with eyes half closed.

Pick Lee: Cute lady with immense shopping-stamina.

We waited and waited, and finally, we had our ‘lunner’ (lunch + dinner) around 4 pm. Satisfaction is guaranteed I have to say, and sad to admit, Miri’s Bak Kut Teh just don’t cut it.

Again, it rained and we were stuck in the process again, similar to what happened this morning. We moved swiftly to the opposite block as the ladies want to shop around again, so we hopped into the nearby complex, Wisma Merdeka to do some rounds. While moving around, I came across this unique bookstore, selling used books and displaying a wide array of old and can I say ‘antique’ books. Also, it is loaded with Borneo books, so if you really want to know more about the Borneo I recon that you guys pay this bookstore a visit.

Borneo Books: Unique design and exotic environment.

My legs were about to break, and there is still no news from the ladies. Really have to respect those little legs of theirs, as they really can move like a tri-athelete when it comes to shopping.

So I gave up and so did the other few (yes, you guessed it, we guys all gave up), we decided to go home and had to pull them off their shopping shoes by force and headed back. While on the way down the escalator, I met a familiar face.. Teck Hieng?

Familiar face: what are you doing in the poster?

On the way back, one of us suddenly had the craving for KFC, so I managed to take a snapshot of this majestic KFC building to lure her..

Hmm.. Finger lickin’ good..

We stopped by Centre Point (again, 3rd time for me) to get some supplies, toothpaste and some mineral water and I bumped into this interesting signboard..

Bread story: a bedtime story about breads?

Now my legs are really falling apart, I have been walking like for 5 to 6 hours straight and I was practically dragging my feet to the very last kilometers to my apartment.

Cock and bull: very disturbing name.

Reminder from the government: Pay your taxes!!

----------------------------------------------

So it was until around 9 pm before our tummies start calling again (man, our metabolisms are really out of control). We went out again to grab a bite to eat. Trip to KK is never complete without a feast of seafood.

Shuang Tian: Paradise for seafood hunters, hell for sea creatures.

Post meal: sorry, not quick enough to get a pic of the food. Things happened too quickly.

One really really satisfied customer: so happy that she lost control of her emotions.

Later we moved around to the nearby ‘Pasar-malam’ to maybe get some souvenirs for my beloved firnds back in Miri. But sadly, nothing much seemed to catch my attention so.. sorry mates..

The Sabah Chee Chiong Kai’s: Just another place to get cheap stuffs.

Nike? Adidas? Semua ada!

Casting a shadow over original shops: who needs originals?

Our apartment was our final destination, and heck, I’m dead tired..

Johnnie Walker Swing

JOhnnie Walker is very well distinguished among the scotch whicky producers. Is a world famous brand and is produced in Kilmarnock, Scotland by a company name Diageo PLC. That is the logo above.

Despite other brands such as the Johnnie Walker black label, green label, red label or the blue label there is this which name Johnnie Walker SWing. Apart from the Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Johnnie Walker Swing absolutely a whisky to have. Below is the picture of it.
This is definitely nice to drink as it is an extremely smooth premium whisky. Swing was created in the early 2oth century by the world famous whisky blender and connoisseur - Sir Alexander Walker.

Johnnie Walker Swing

If you can see from the picture above, the bottle actually has an irregular bottome which allows the bottle to rock back and forth. Is unique isn't it? I guess they made it according to the name which was given o vice versa.

For first time drinker it may taste awful but when u really know how to drink it, is like ..... wah! i dono how to explain. hahaha... If i am not wrong is really hard to get this and is very expensive. So guys if u get a chance to drink this don't miss out the good opportunity. hahaha...:p

uNLuckY DaY ;(

It all start with one fine day which nothing happen till 5pm... When someone rang the door bell and saying that he wanna buy books for his sister which is primary 4. The moment open the door, my heart was pumping very fast and I was really shaking.. I got a feeling that things aren't right.. but he still came in..

When i show him the cds/books, he went to sit near the table which i place my phone but no one realize he actually already took my phone. I heard my keychain bell and i thought my aunty help me keep my phone .. but then... sigh..

After he was gone about few seconds, when i wanna msg my friend, i jus realize that my phone was gone. So I rang digi customer centre but it was like going thru hell ma.. When u called the helpline, the operator say this n tat and like u have to wait more that 5 mins before u can get to talk to the digi centre people... sigh...Digi should cut down all the unnessary promotion thing when we call up digi helpline...

Anyway a day like this we never expect it to happen but just be careful with people around you.
