What happened in August...

----------------------------------------------------
Suddenly have the urge to post up something here. Maybe cos of the guilty feeling for leaving this place empty for so long.. LOL.
----------------------------------------------------

Been busy lately, especially when my company decides to do push the closing for the year to September. But after being busy for so long, I think its time to procrastinate.

Here is a summary of what's been happening to me at least so far. :)

21st August:
After hanging on to my LG Chocolate for around a year an a half, I've finally decided to spend some of my savings on a new phone. My Chocolate has been misbehaving lately (as you may know, the touch sensitive pad tends to have a life of its own when there's a sudden change in temperature), so I've treated myself with a new (yet another) LG KF 510.

Here are the pics:
"They call it the Nicholoas Phone.. but why?"

"Charging it for the day..."

"Lights up like his previous uncle, LG Chocolate.."

"Packed with 1 GB external memory, good enough for me to slot in some of my tunes on the go.."

"Nice feel on the hand, tough and heavy feel.. Scratch proof, tampered glass front panel.."

"Nice black-red gradient at the back, metal body finish.."

27th August:
My colleague (the one who always comes down and play TumbleBugs and BeJewelled 2 on my notebook during working hours) finally got her car today. A sleek midnight-blue Honda CRV. Damn nice...

Here are the pics:
"Back View: Nice new back configuration. Got compartments to put your stuffs like durians etc.. (just kidding)"

"Side view: Sleek body with 17 inch rims.. O_O!!"

"Inside view: Modern configuration, smart dashboard display.."

"Front view: It comes in black too! Nice new face.."

"Sexy lighting.. damn.."

And yeap, I made a deal with her: To send us for lunch for 2 weeks!

I think I'm becoming a huge fan of CRV.. haih..

29th August
After my football session, my bro found a bird (chick) on my car wiper. I think it fell off the nest, so, (trying to emulate what kids do when they find these things: bring home, feed it, then send release it again) I brought this little guy home. Guess what, my mom threw a fit, so we had to put it outside. It flew off.

Then, the next morning, this little guy knocked on my room window. He's back! In order not to repeat last night's ordeal (my mom's fit), we secretly hid it and send him back where we found him. Also, I gave him a complementary home made out of my name card box and some tissues. LOL

Here's the pic:
"Hey you! Take your dirty hands off my feet!!"

30th August
Decided to take a day off to bring my family for a treat. Sushi Fest at Escapade in Brunei.

Here are the pics:
"Baby squids.. horrific looking, but damn nice to eat.."

"Close up view, the head, tentacles.."

"Feasting time.. pardon my table setting.."

"Salmon head, top of the pick of the day!"

"My bro's set.. (what's left, LOL)"

Well, it costed us around B$ 67.00 and we had to take away some extra items which we over-ordered. Try not converting it to RM and you'll feel that its worth it. ;)

31st August
Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Happy 51st birthday to Malaysia..

But I stayed at home watching Arsenal kicking the shit out of Newcastle and forgotten about the whole thing. LOL

Till then..

Public Telephones Today!

*show of hands*
How many people actually use public telephone this days? Nah... I guess NOT and that is probably the reason why and how this story begins.

Not so long back, weather was chilly cold, and my *phone service provider* constantly was out and finally it was really out of service for a duration of approximately 20 minutes or so. Within that time frame I needed to call my friend to tell her i have arrived at the place and wanted to know where she was at that time. I recalled her asking me to wait for her before entering the premises and because it was so cold and windy my intention was also to tell her to hurry if she was still far from the place.

Since my phone was out of service, i stopped at the nearest tram stop, got down and walked towards to the telephone booth. Just before i reached the place a lady came by in front of me and started heading towards the phone booth as well.

Knowing that I*Cursed* while trying hard to keep myself warm. She was looking at her mobile phone while making the call. "Must be the same service provider" as it ran through my head. Successfully making a call after 4minutes she called another person looking at me and apologized. That took her another 2-3 minutes. It was obviously long for me cause it was really chilly.

Eventually, she turned around called me and said "you can use the money... etc... etc eaten money..etc...etc.." *I actually didn't understand what she was talking after that* I looked at the display and it show $0.50, wow! great cause i only had $0.40 that time and the minimum amount to make a phone call was $0.50. Lucky day I thought and started making the call. Unfortunately, I was unable to make a call. Every time the receiver picks up, the call drops. Oh! FYI, there is only 1 public telephone around that area. Sigh...

I guess despite having a mobile phone, it is also equally important to have public phones around. Do you agree? Who knows what might happen. There is always contingencies for everything why not this.
