Christmas in July!!

Why Christmas in July! I don't really know myself. What i do know is that in Australia, Christmas time is always in the summer season and they want to celebrate Christmas during winter (i guess) and the best time to do that is in July! I won't say this celebration as a tradition through out Australia, however there are ppl here who celebrates Christmas at this time.

Well, it was a totally fun and enjoyable night. There was of course the dinner, the karaoke, dancing which everyone had fun and not to forget everyones favourite, the free drinks through out the night. :p

200 Pounds Beauty: Review

I have been a frequent visitor of the cineplex for the past few days.. and heck, June is really a good month for movies..

And I came across this title.. '200 Pounds Beauty'..

To love me or hate me?

I have to say... Koreans do come up with the silliest and the funniest movies..

Huge jeans, huge dreams..

Over the surface, this movie is quite similar to its Hong Kong counterpart, 'Love On a Diet', both movies involved the characters being fat at first, then because of love, they.. umm.. find ways to slim down.. And I have to tell you, this movie taught the less healthy way to slim down.. black-mailing a plastic surgeon with a recording of him doing a 'phone-sex' session..


Anyway, the movie goes with the main actress, Kang Hanna (Kim Ah-joong) being a voice of a famous 'singer' Ammy (Seo Yun) who actually, can't really.. sing.. As you can see, despite having the sweet voice, Hanna is not really that pretty (well, she's the movie title..) and secretly she admired him...

However, her looks didn't really impress the producer of the album company, Sang-jun (Ju Jin-mo), and Hanna is frequently being targeted by Ammy as victim of himiliation by playing pranks on her, trying to wake her up from her fantasy etc..

'A' or 'B'.. you choose

Which led to Hanna deciding to transform her current form into a new personality. She seeked help from a surgeon (who used to call her up for kinky phone-sex) who agreed to help build her a new image (after black-mailing him)..

When is her wish coming true?

The result of the surgery was spectacular.. She became the new persona of pop songs, and now with her new name 'Jenny', she decides to take another gamble to win Sang-jun's heart..

Oh... did an angel fell from heaven?

Taxi driver: 'What the heck! Do you know how to dri... Are you OK??'

The adventure as a new person is truly a comedy. For the next hour, the movie is filled with both extremes of joy and sorrow. As fame grows, distance is slowly built up between her and her family and friends..

The movie is also packed with cool and catchy tunes.. Some of the songs are even sang by the actress herself!

Shooting to fame but distance apart from family and friends.. What's her choice?

Despite being labled as a comedy, this movie has its touching scenes as well, especially when she did a public confession in her first concert.. the whole cinema was so quiet and i really can hear some sobbing.. well, my nose was running.. oh well..

I guess i should not say anymore as i might spoil the essence of this movie.. But i guess in a whole, this is a good movie to watch, for those with sensitive feelings, do get a box of tissue prepared, and for those who'd like a laugh, don't miss this film..

This movie really deserve a 8/10 rating... 2 missing for poorly making Hanna's fatty body.. LOL

Protect or Destroy

This movie came to me few months back, when I unintentionally bumped into its trailer. Then, the trailer was pathetic.. Why did I say so is because it made me sooo hooked on to the movie and that one minute of teaser is enough to make me yearn more for the movie..

That was in March...

The day came when the premier of the movie came, in Miri itself, was on the 28th of June (last two days from this post..) I wanted to get the tickets in the afternoon but didn't, then when I knew it, the tickets are all sold out. I was devastated..

But my brother came to the rescue..

He managed to get TWO TICKETS from one of his friend, and hey, before i knew it, i am on my way to the premier..

It says: 'No filming of the movie with any recording objects allowed.'

The moview was awesome..

Life beyond our planet Earth?

The story began with the flying cube, where the citizens of a science-fiction planet, The Cybertron are fighting to get their hands on it. The 'Allspark' as they knew it, landed on our planet Earth and they came all the way from their destroyed homeland to grab hold of it, one side wants to harness the power of the cube, while the other want to foil the evil plans by destroying it.

The very very very bad Megatron.

So, the ones wanting to do bad things with the cube are the Decepticons, while the ones wanting to destroy the cube are the Autobots..

WWE Raw, Heavy Metal style..

These two sides battle their way out to find the locations of the cube and the stumbles upon this kid, Sam Witwicky, the decendant of the late Captain Witwicky who found the cube 200 years ago.

The 'Hero' and the 'Heroine'

The movie revolves with lots of action and the same amount of jokes(lots of sarcasm and puns) slotted amongst the serious battles between the Decepticons and the Autobots.

Very scary robots trying to kill humans..

Tho only thing that makes me wonder... Why the Autobots only take shapes in form of four-wheeled (or more) vehicles? Why can't they do like the Decepticons where they get cool military weapons like tanks etc.? Well, maybe the movie makers want to preserve the originality of the story, and heck, the cars are quite cool too...

Damn cool wheels..

In whole (to keep things), I don't wanna spoil the movie, but i do feel that this movie is going to hit the box-office big time. If you can't watch it today, make sure you do tomorrow..

I'd give a 10 of 10 rating.. The movie even has a hot-chick! LOL..

Masterpiece!

Here are some of the pictures that i took and like most (i guess...) :p Why i call these masterpieces is because my camera is like a time bomb. It is near 'death'. It is amazing to get few good snapshots such as the pictures below.

Little Updates here n there!

This is how Em looked when she came back from the graduation ceremony back in m'sia to melbourne. She arrived around 7am at the melbourne airport and straight to her home and after unloading her baggages she rushed to the school. On that day she had classes throughout the day from 9am till 4.30pm. She was trying real hard to stay awake... and when she heard the word "BREAK" by her lecturer this is what she looked like

Here is a chocolate bar which I found while i was shopping for my groceries. It has my best friend's name on it. The word "Violet" :P (it may sound rather odd) but for the fun of it and juz to show it to my group of frens. :p

Graduation! (2nd Chapter)

This is the continuation of the chapter i published titled 'the 4 best friend' (trilogy)

Time flies don't there.....
Here we are a bunch of graduates struggling and striving for a better life and seeking achievements of our own. No more complaints of suffering from assignments and exams however suffering from the daily routines and scoldings from bosses and involving in the workplace gossips. Sounds sad.. but that is life.

So we basically attended the graduation ceremony on 11th May 2007. Officially graduated! Despite that each of us went off our separate path we still very much keep in touch. Now i am wondering when will we ever get together roaming around town asking the question 'ai ki ta lok jiak' (where to go and eat) and sitting down chatting and telling stories of their new sets of life :)

ADIDAS +Predator Absolute: review

Brief-crap: Happen that we went to Sunway and stumbled upon this weird looking Egyption fortune-teller machine. We each put our own hands to see what the results were. At first we laughed it off, but later what happened really made me think twice. O_O.. spooky..

Again, festive season is coming.. Chinese New Year will be here to knock at your doors on the coming weeks of February. Not to forget, my b'day is coming really soon, but not as soon as when i received this..

An ADIDAS +Predator Absolute..

It comes in a simple exterior, red on top, black beneath.. but what lies in it is breath-taking..

Slowly I reveal the contents.. Beneath the crimson red top lies a bag with a vicious looking 'Predator' engraved printed on it..

'Grrrr... how dare you wake me from my lengthy-sleep??!'

I opened further.. I realised that inside the hideous and vicious looking 'Predator' bag lies a pair of crimson-red football boots, just like its cover, with white and infamous '3-stripes' by its side..

'Peekaboo...'

The more I fantasize, the more I think about the awakening of a crimson vampire awaking from his sleep.. It may not be as fearsome looking as my imagination, but I really have to say I am impressed by myself to be able to relate such stupid thoughts during the process of unleashing my pair of Predators..

'Taaa daaa...'

I've got several boots of this range, a pair of F50, Predator Pulse, Nike Tiempo Mystic(the second grade), and several other boots which I forgot the name, and out of all, I think this is the sweetest one.. Maybe because it is the latest, but heck, when i put it on, I can instantly feel its comfort..

To hit it hard and powerful or to get the weights off? Hmmm...

It comes with two sockliners, one with an extra weight of 20 grams, which theoretically says will give you extra power for your kicks, which the other is the lightweight one, which makes the Predator one of the lightest boots of its kind..

Without the sockliner, you can see your fish swimming in your boot.. How cool?

It also comes with some care-guide for the boots, like what you should and shouldn't do with the RM 699.90 footwear..

Rule 21: Do not leave boots out where it is exposed to potential pet gnawing and chewing..

Of course, this pair of boots don't come cheap.. I went to the retails in Berjaya Times Square, and paid some hard cash of RM 700 just to see the cashier giving me a 10 cents change back.. Inflation... Inflation...

It looks good anywhere, on kitchen floors, bedroom parquets and even without onion leaves topping..

Compared with its predecessor, the new Absolute is really impressive.. My previous Predator Pulses were good, but this just stands on a class of its own...

Overall I have yet to rate this boot for the recent weather condition was too bad to put it on its first test.. But by far, i would say that it is a must for crazy Predator lovers who wants to up their game and of course, have some extra cash to spend.. As for me, I will have to thank Uncle Lim from Genting who made my B'day wish came through.. earlier than I've thought..

The 4 Best Friends!

The stories begin.....

Once upon a time in Curtin.... (*aiyak tis is not Disney story*). Okok so the stories starts like this. How WE met? Wow! incredible, come to think of it, WE are actually from different courses. REalyy!! Is like 1 from Marketing & Finance, 1 from Accounting & Finance, 1 from Finace & Management and 1 from Marketing & Management.

Despite of the different courses, one funny thing among us is that there are 3 kch kia and only 1 miri kia (which is also not entirely a miri 'lang') hahaha... How wierd can this group be. :P

I guess we have to thank one guy. His name is Alvin (a mirian) who somehow helped in creating this group.

What WE do??? Basically, loitering around town spending almost entire time don't know what to do. Asking questions like ' ai ki ta lok?' , 'go where eat?' (tis is the famous one and most frequent use) etc. hahaha... Other things are like, watching movies, having our 3 meals 2gether, sleepovers, goes to computer lab to do assignments. Talking about assignments I must take oppotunity here to actually thank my 2 most faithful and loyal friends (Violet n Mark) . They always "teman" me and Ming Hui for our 'aSSingments' time. For eg: our Market REsearch which we spent the night in the lab and both our friends "temaned" us, supporting us all the way through. Thanks! Tough times eh guyz.... ?? Wow!! Same goes to Strategic marketing (i think) and part of the Business Policy (again i think) hahaha.. can't really remember. :p Aiyah.... story stil long long way... need to have another episode. (mayb the trilogy episode)

The memories that WE have created is so much so that i will cherish it forever. Now that everyone has graduated i juz want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!

Guys and girls, people of all ages.. as you can see, the site is experiencing a minor overhaul (actually not so serious).. as the moderator of this blog finds it quite plain so he decided to add in some colour.. and hope to change the design a bit..

Changing phase in life..

I guess this site slowly become a ranting ground not for students, but working people.. Lene and Violet is on the verge of graduating.. Mark and I have already did.. so as our lives move on to the next phase, so will this site.. hmm.. what will the new layout look like i ask myself..

Anyway.. what i wanna say here is... CONGRATS!! to all who did well for the finals.. and all the best in all your future undertakings.. :)

I tell you honestly, i tot this group was like 'tak chek' group man. Gosh! when i saw them i was like, WHAT! another quiet group. Hai~~~~

HOwever, this turn 360 i tell u. It was the most AMAZING group i have came across. Superb indeed i must say. Oh! i like the team spirit and the teamwork they showed especially during the asid river game.
